Bob Hope is the host for the show. He jokes about his recent travels to military bases, life in the barracks, Chow hall food, and more. Bob dips into the mailbag and introduces the Charioteers. They sing, Ride Red Ride.
Bob reads more mailbag greetings. Then Betty Hutton chats with Bob about jitterbugs, and her past in performing on the stage. She sings, He Says Murder He Says. In responce to letters, Lana Turner comes out to fry up a steak. As she does, it’s complete with teasing Bob, and an armed guard for the steak.
Bob calls on Jimmy Durante to come out to talk about his suit, and dating and Jimmy’s prowess with the ladies. When the jokes don’t work, Bob and Jimmy get in some good adlibs. Jimmy sings, You Gotta Start Each Day With a Song.
After Bob reads more from the mailbag, Judy Garland talks with Bob about making movies. They practice scenes with Bob as Charles Boier, then as Jimmy Cagney. Judy sings, Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Bob closes with a custom rendition of Thanks for the Memories.
