Travelling by dog sled through the frozen North, Sgt Preston of the mounties follows the lead of his great dog, King. They find a house on fire, and rescue the young mother and her infant. What can the manly mountie do for the crying baby?
When Mrs Andrews comes around from her swoon, she offers clues about the man who attacked her. Soon young Bob Andrews is hot on the trail with the mountie, but Preston begins to worry about Bob’s hot headed nature.
The young man is soon found to be missing, and more of a liability than a help. Hasty gunshots at the fleeing criminal start a landslide that threatens his own life. Thanks to King, justice is done, and Bob learns a harsh lesson about self control.
