A man is dealing with having his wife, Gloria, in intensive care. Is there hope for her to come out of her coma? In talking with a doctor, we go into flashback to learn the beginnings of the marriage, and going to meet Gloria’s straight laced parents. Ben is a jazz musician, but promises to get off the road to settle down. Even then Gloria had signs of serious medical problems. Ben is driven to want to know what Gloria is dreaming about in her coma.
The only thing that Ben seems interested in is knowing what Gloria might say about her dreams, when she has brief moments of consciousness. Do her dreams predict the future? Have they worked out to be true in the past? Ben discloses to the doc how her dreams had helped him hit it big at gambling. In her condition in the intensive care unit, has her dream predictions become broken?
Gloria seems to be having more waking moments, but now claims to not remember her dreams. She’s afraid to tell her latest one, thinking it means that someone will die soon. Will she be on the road to recovery at long last? Will Ben come to grips with his gambling addiction, and get his priorities straight?
