Looking for something to do out on the town that’s different, Vern and Margie decide to go to the radio station and catch a live radio program. The take Mrs Odet and Freddie along with them, and enjoy the show hosted by Frank Nelson.
Margie gives the brainy answers to the quiz questions, while Freddie can barely get his name right. Even Mrs Odet does better at giving correct answers. As the big winner, Margie takes the gang on a vacation to Hawaii.
In a tropical paradise, Vern is protective and restrictive at letting Margie do what she wants to do. No flirting with the native boys, no skimpy bathing suits, no surfing, basically no fun for Margie. I have a feeling that as the guys have fun watching the hula dancers, that Margie has a way of dishing out a little of their own medicine.
The gang enjoy the local customs, and Margie discovers that she is made queen of the ilanders. OK, the islanders are actually actors who Margie hired, to put her in a place of authority over her dad and Freddie. Soon the guys are suffering as they do menial chores. Will the guys ever be rescued from their island drudgery? Suddenly, trouble in paradise rocks Margie’s boat. This time Vern has the last laugh in the world of pranks, but all ends well.
