On the range, Hoppy comes across a young man with a head injury. The bullet crease has caused him to lose his memory. After helping him to safety, we learn a murder has been committed, and Eddie is the prime suspect.
For now, Hoppy shelters the Sundown Kid from the posse, but more details emerge that pile up against the young man. Still, Hoppy believes in Ed and plans to find out all the details to expose the real killer. Who else is on Ed’s side?
In town the wanted posters are already going up, and the sheriff doesn’t care about the “alive” part of the “wanted dead or alive” on the poster. Hoppy has to stir things up if he hopes to save Ed, but he confronts the witness who claims to have seen the crime, and blows holes in her testimony. Hoppy has the murder figured out, but how can he get the evidence he needs to prove it?
There’s plenty of complications on his hands as Hoppy tries to keep Eddie safe, while clearing his name. Can he keep the real killer from getting to Ed before the posse does?
