In flashback, we learn how Gracie arranged a last moment get away for George to rest up before the broadcast season begins. George is go go away for a week, but how will Gracie manage in the house without him? He’s already feeling in the pink, but after her planned shopping spree, he’s sure to be in the red.
After his restful week in the woods is over, George returns covered in bug bites and poison ivy, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg for him. The Happy Postman delivers the mail, and the word of his own afflictions of his Summer vacation. Meredeth Willson joins Bill Goodwin for the commercial message.
Part of George’s trouble is his allergy of pine trees, but since he’s back home, why is he sneezing? Might he be allergic to money instead? Gracie promises to do her best to protect him from it. Meredeth enters to tell about his own allergies. At the dinner table, George has his allergies kick in again. What’s causing it, the meat, the vegetables, the fruit? If he can’t shake the sneezing, who will it affect his singing on the show?
Still in search of the source of his allergies, Gracie thinks it might be George’s clothes. Bill Goodwin enters with his own thoughts on allergies and doctors. Of course his cure involves the sponsor. Mel Blanc is the doctor who comes for a house call. Will it require surgery? Will the two gents be able to play a trick on Gracie, and get her to return her new clothes rom her shopping spree?
