A crooked politician has the towns votes all to himself when his opponent has mysteriously disappeared. Hop Along Cassidy talks to Ted to convince him to run on the ballot, and has Ellen, a newspaper woman on his side as well.
Hoppy pokes into the lies, and stories that don’t match up. He decides that the missing man isn’t simply out of town, but has been murdered. It takes some subtle investigation, but that doesn’t mean that danger isn’t afoot for our hero when he gets too close to the answers.
Will Hoppy discover what hapened to the missing man? Will the killers be brought to justice? Will the town elect a crooked politician for their sheriff, or will an honest man emerge as victor?
