Rush reads to Vic from his 3rd Lt Stanley book. Sade interupts to scoot the guys out the door. The lights are out, the doors locked, and the Gooks are on their way to visit their neighbors. Uncle Fletcher joins them, and Sade hopes he won’t slow them down much. He wants to meet Jimmy Custard at the Gook home.
Sade suggests he stay and meet the man, and let them be on their way, but Fletcher won’t have any of it. The whole purpose is to have the Gooks take part in a survey. Jimmy arrives, a forgetful and annoying census taker.
Delays compound and Sade might as well give up on being on time for her visit to the Stembottoms. Jimmy Custard has some of the most useless statistics to take down, on top of being unorganized. Sade is frustrated by a wrong number on the telephone. Will she ever make her appointment with her friends? Will Jimmy ever get his statistics? Even Fletcher begins to get annoyed by the man.
