Gracie is a gal who just can’t say, “No” to a salesman. Magazines, flowers, Gracie is up for buying anything. When she does say, “No” it somehow backfires on George.
Frustrated with all the clutter, George has the junkman come by, but even that doesn’t work out. George goes to the cigar shop to share his troubles, and gets some ideas to keep salesmen away.
Joe Bagley has his own ideas to use the extra clutter for his own good. The junk is cleared so Gracie’s mom can visit. Get ready for jokes about marriage, and in laws. Not to mention that George’s plan to keep salesmen away traps him alone with Gracie’s mom while Gracie is locked out of the house.
Trivia Alert: In real life, Gracie tried to be a thrifty housekeeper, but never could manage money well. Fortunately, George had hired a good business manager to keep her checkbook balanced.
