Hosted by Ernie Whitman. In true jive talking fashion, he calls on Fletcher Henderson to perform, I’ve Got Rhythm.
Ernie is back briefly, but the music continues with the Delta Rhythm Boys and the song, It’s Spring Again.
Fletcher talks with Ernnie and dips into the mailbag for requests. He then plays, Keep ‘Em Swinging.
Ernie calls on butterfly McQueen, a regular on the Jack Benny show during this time frame, playing Mary’s maid. Butterfly tells how she had six children in the few weeks since she has last been on the show. The jokes switch to making fun of Ernie’s size, and going on a date to the movies.
Pianist Dorothy Donagan plays with elaborate styling, from mellow and wistful to upbeat and boogie woogie. I’m not sure what it was, but she is good.
Ernie calls on Fletcher to perform, the Savoy.
The Delta Rhythm boys return to sing, Take the A Train.
Fletcher Henderson returns to play, but a skip in the recording makes it so the song title is jumped over. In closing Ernie says a few parting words.
