When a drifter rides back into Dodge, a low life who Matt Had to deal justice to in the past, a warning is given to him. It still doesn’t prevent the string of small time crimes that begin to plague town, and the fact that Matt had to gun him down. Mrs Grebb frets over how her boy has turned out, and fears her youngest may be following in the same downward path. She’s not upset at Matt for doing his job, but doesn’t want to lose her remaining son. Will the young Billy do the right thing? Or will he feel that he needs to avenge the death of his older brother?
Chester marvels at the good vittles, and plush treatment of their prisoner. Billy. It’s almost enough to make him want to be locked up. Billy can’t be held for very long, and though the youth won’t talk about the gang members who are misleading him, Matt has his own plan brewing.
Bad news comes in for Billy when he learns his mom has been attacked by the very friends he has been trying to protect. The incident is enough to shake him up, giving Billy a wake up call to reality, and get his priorities straightened out as to who deserves his loyalty. Watch out though. Mom has a secret that she shares with Matt about the incident.
