Connie Brooks is having a nightmare where Mr Conklin rants on about having more discipline, and less horseplay at school. Under Conklins careful control, her dreams are filled with excersizes. In the morning Mrs Davis tells about her nightmare about an eexperience with jungle cats. Minirva the cat gets in on the morning joking around. Connie has to pass on the breakfast concoction that Mrs Davis prepared so she can ride to school with Walter. The silver tongued flatterer asks for a favor to have duties in the school stock room.
In Mr Conklins office he complains to himself about the rainy, muddy weather, then catches Miss Brooks brown footed as she tries to sneak past him. She is informed of her new duties in the stockroom, and the need for strict control over the supplies. Later, Connie has lunch with Mr Boynton. They complain about the lack of heat in the biology lab.
In the stockroom, Walter helps and Connie is swayed to use less than ethical control over the supplies. She requisitions the electric heater for her own purposes, and takes it to Mr Boynton. It doesn’t take long for Conklin to get wind of the open stockroom that was left unattended, and the space heater overloads the circuits.
We get a glimpse into Miss Brooks classroom, but its interupted by a tapping on the pipes. Mr Conklin is trapped, and it is assumed that he is in the furnace room where he was to inspect it. The fire department is called, but there’s no sign of Conklin, until Walter happens to find him. Fire fighter, Frank nelson has his work demolishing the school wall when Conklin makes his appearance. The firemen’s job isn’t quite finished when Boynton sounds the alarm that his biology lab is on fire.
When will the nightmares end for Connie? It isn’t all bad when she learns her punishment includes Mr Boynton.
