In town, as Matt teases Doc about being an aging bachelor, Chester brings word that the legal entaglement over the eviction could drag out longer. Rather than fighting with guns, Carson files papers to dispute the eviction claim. The old man is furious that his son is taking the side of the homesteaders, and his blood pressure blows up and he drops dead.
