Abner seems to have blown his chance at winning the $10k reward for honesty, and Diogenes is out of a head pamphlet writer. Today we find grandpap in the Jot ‘Em Down store where he reads from the Almanac. Lum is in a rush with delivering pamphlets, but tries to mix in the topic of setting clocks back for Wartime savings, now known as Daylight Savings Time.
The clock is to be moved ahead an hour. The distracted grandpap passes on the word, but as each character moves through the store, he doesn’t notice that each person resets the clock. Before you know it the day runs short, and the span of time between lunch and closing time has run short. Definitely much shorter than usual. In the process, learn the reasoning behind how the daylight savings will help save electricity. Also in case any listener has missed the recent happenings in town, the high points of the honest man contest and it’s reward are reviewed.
How will the government know if people are complying with the new daylight savings?
