Drama time:
Gene tells a story of Mike Daniels and his daughter. After leaving home the daghter had a girl, now 5 years old. A tragic letter arrives back to Mike to tell of his daughter’s ddath, and that Mike is to take custody of his granddaughter. Fade into a dramat to finish the story.
When the little girl begins to enjoy the same things that her mom did, Mike takes a grumpy attitude, and feels he needs to raise his dranddaughter differently to prevent another loss in his life. Is Mike cheating the little girl out of having a good life?
On the Melody Ranch a Christmas party was in full swing when Suzie shows up to see Santa Claus, since he never comes to her house. Will her Christmas wish come true? Her real desire is that her grandpa would come to believe that Santa is real. Gene goes to tell Mike all about the situation, but the tough chore turns into something elsed.
Christmas has a way of turning Mike’s worries over another loss, into a softer, heartfelt ending.
Gene wraps up with singing, Silent Night.
