Taking shelter on a rainy day, Wild Bill and Jingles find themselves in a schoolhouse. Tom, the school teacher has a son named Pete, and a mystery brewing. Chief Running Bear is staring through the window, and is all dressed up in war paint, but is he a friend or a foe?
Tom shares his story after the Chief disappears into the stormy night. The strange story offers clues involving ringing bells, and thundering hoofbeats. What does it all mean? Why does it all add up to the indians wanting to threaten Tom’s life? Bill and Tom chase down the clues out on the open plains, while Jingles stays back to keep Pete company.
Danger and drama builds as the sounds of distant gunshots reaches the ears of Jingles and Pete. Has Bill gotten himself into a jam that he can’t get himself out of?
