Audio is weak and muffled sounding, something of an ear bender so be warned.
The topic of the day is on the reach of Nazi Germany around the globe. This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise since just about all European nations had colonies around the world, including the various island chains, South East Asia, and South America. Germany had ties to several South American nations, and after the war became notorious hide outs for Nazi war criminals. Though today’s propaganda points out the number of Germans living in South America, we also had ties to those countries, and even instituted the “Good Neighbor” policy in order to win the hearts of the people and politicians to our favor. Fortunately, and wisely South American countries hung back and were able to remain neutral throughout the war.
Were there actually puppet governments in South America, ran by the Germans? Was there any real danger that the Germans were stockpiling arms and smuggling them through South America? The drama seems to have documentation to prove that the threats were real.
