Besides the Jews, Hitler’s government also persecuted Christian churches. In the dramatization today, a plot to portray Hitler as the new Christ is set up. The Nazis are to set up their own religion, and abolish Christianity. The time is around 1935, and we find Germans starting to put the new practices into place, with the Hitler youth heading out to practice target shooting, rather than going to trditional Sunday services.
The beginning of a new idolatry? Is there actually support for such claims? what might such a perverse religion look like? The drama atempts to portray and document these ideas. Even closing with a statement from the Pope at the time of this recording.
