Working the Auto Theft detail, Joe talks with Frank about his recent weekend plans, and the sunburn he’s wearing today. The cops respond to a call involving a rental truck that is overdue, and now reported as stolen. A paper trail soon has their suspect in hand, but he claims that he didn’t do anything. Summers is a known druggie, and there’s plenty of holes in his story, just not enough to hold him on.
In voiceover, Joe tells how more similar robberies go down over the next weeks.
A lead comes in when the missing truck that started our episode turns up. Found in Mexico with drugs in it, Joe tells how it was processed by law enforcement. Still, the string of robberies continue. A huge tip comes to Joe when an informant tells about the shipment that’s going down. The smuggling ring is to use all the stolen trucks to bring narcotics across the border.
Ride along as Friday gives the play by play in voiceover. Summers, the druggie car thief is picked up, but he’s just a small fry in the smuggling ring. Will he help take down the big guys? Stay tuned to the conclusion next week.
