A hold up man has been making short work of grocery stores in town, and it’s up to Joe Friday to bring him down. Ride along as the cops interview shop owners to gather clues. In voiceover we learn the burglars have a wide territory of crime that seems impossible for only one person to be doing alone. Not to mention the man who has had his mug shot positively identified has an airtight alibi. He has been in the hospital under close doctor’s care. Still, there’s something fishy going on, and Joe Friday is skeptical.
Hansen, the hospitalized man is suddenly missing. Loose ends begin to unravel, and the cops start reeling in the players.
