Out on the range, Matt takes Chester to follow up on the matter at the homestead. Revealing their status as lawmen, Matt tries to see what’s going on with the stoic, and aloof couple. He is said to be sickly, but is more hospitible than she is. There’s definitely something fishy going on. will Matt need to resort to force to get the man the medical attention he needs? Is his wife, Floory trying to kill her husband?
Floory has bad news for Matt when he returns the next morning, her husband died through the night. Thinking the worst, Matt questions the woman, and secrets rush to the surface. while she would be better under the law to have let Matt take in the sick man, she faces her own dire future for taking the law into her own hands. wait for it though, the twists and turn arounds in this story keep on coming.
