An auto theft ring is operating in town, and it’s up to Joe Friday to bring it to a stop. Travel step by step on an actual case with your police force in action.
On a stakeout, Joe Friday and Frank Smith catch a theif red handed, but their juvenile suspect gets run over in traffic. Joe and Frank have the tough duty of informing the family as they gather clues about who the boy might have been hanging out with. In voiceover, Joe tells about the various categories of car theft. In today’s case it’s about those who steal cars to strip for parts.
After a week without gaining on the gang, the cops take calls when a break comes their way. Joe interviews another victim, and tips about leaving cars locked with windows up are brought up. The crime lab gets involved, and more weeks go by as the cops continue their stakeouts.
A teenager is picked up, and taken in to be interrogated when his car is souped up with stolen car parts. what does he know? Is he involved with others who are part of the theft gang? Through a chain of events, Joe tells in voiceover how he came to an auto repair shop ran by Al Myers. with a little pressure, the case cracks wide open.
