George works on a speech to honor actor, and Screen Actors Guild president, Ronald Reagan. Gracie pitches her own ideas to include, then the neighbors come over to poke fun at the situation.
Somehow the topic of cars enters the picture. George tries out his speech on a salesman friend, while the girls sneak over to Ronald Reagan’s house. What kind of person is he at home? Those giddy gals, Gracie and Blanche are about to find out. Does he have any life secrets that he wants to expose for Gracie?
Back to George, he talks with Bill Goodwin for more ideas for a humorous speech. Through the show, a basic biographical sketch of the well known actor is portrayed. Ronald meets George to share his sympathies for dealing with Gracie on a daily basis, and Bill shares tips to pick up the ladies. Who will win as the biggest ladies man? Some test lines are tried out on Gracie that end up being a plug for the sponsor.
George has his chance to try out his speech in front of everybody, sort of.
