After a prison break, a couple of hardcases are now on the loose. Elsewhere, we learn a little family drama taking place on a ship that is about to set sail, the Sea Witch. Charlie Chan and his #1 son are also on hand. The concern being that the escaped killers may try to make their get away under cover of fog.
Of course, despite police diligence, there’s more than one way to get aboard ship for a desperate criminal who doesn’t want to be seen. The high society clientelle are just the easy marks for a couple of escaped murders to have a field day with. It doesn’t take long before a body turns up. It also doesn’t take long for Charlie Chan to spring into action, and round the escaped prisoners up.
The setup is all too easy, Charlie questions the players, and springs the surprise solution to the murder, then explains how he came to his solution.
