Audio is rough, muffled and hard to hear.
Though this probably isn’t the first episode to have Uncle Fletcher appear, it’s the first one I know about, and have in my collection. He talks with Rush about a wash rag collection. Uncle Fletcher demands respect as he goes into great details about the elaborate markings and stylings of the impressive wash rags. He tells of the exotic people and places that contributed to build the collection into it’s present magnificence.
Note: Art VanHarvey, the actor who portrayed Vic had just had major heart troubles. It was feared that he might not recover, and even if he did that he may not be able to rejoin the show. Uncle Fletcher was brought in as a replacement character, and became a regular in the show for the rest of it’s run. Art Van Harvey would come back to the show, but it will be Rush who ends up leaving, at least for a little while during the war since Billy Eidelson joined the Navy in 1944. Don’t worry, he comes back to reprise his role as the eternal 14 year old.
