Sonny Richards talks with her invalid fiancee. He demands to know why she has three strangers living in her house. Jack, Doc, and Reggie are acting as her bodyguards to protect her, and learn the secret of the Richards Curse.
It’s news to Philip that his brother Arthur was the victim of a hit and run accident. Doc tells how it all went down. Jack Packard adds to the convoluted story to prove there is a human element driving the violence, and not the superstition of a curse. Jack has also been posing as Sonny’s new fiancee, and the two men have words with each other about it.
The latest twist comes when the cops come to take Jack Packard, Doc Long, and Reggie York downtown for questioning.
