Jack gets teased about his opening night jitters of last week. He and Don go over newspaper reviews of the show. Even Phil and Mary take some teasing about being nervous last week as well.
Phil plays, Sing Sing Sing. Jack and Phil talk about the girlfriends they invited to the show. Kenny sings, The Night was Filled With Sweet Surrender.
The play begins, Anthony Advers, a hit film of the day. Roles are assigned, and Jack opens by playing the 10 year old orphaned Anthoney. The story follows Anthony as he comes of age, gets married, and finds his place in the world.
The epic is so huge that Phil provides a musical interlude, Cuba. The spoof finds Anthony seeking out his fame and fortune as he has become a world traveller, and a plantation owner in Africa. Such jokes, such oneliners, such puns, there’s too many for just one show, so stay tuned for the conclusion of the play next week.
