It’s evening at the house halfway up the next block and Vic talks to Rush about the return of the Stembottom’s from their trip. They’ll be stopping over later.
Vic has been trying to finish up his work that he brought home, Rush has algebra work to do, but when Sade takes a phone call, she learns that there’s a travel delay. Sade has time to muse over how much she likes Mrs Scot, or not.
Her neighbor can have mood swings from being kind and gentled, to condescending. The guys don’t seem to interested in Sade’s talking, and are keeping busy at their own work. It won’t stop Sade from sharing the details of her friends and neighbors, shedding light on personalities and conflicts. Sade manages to carry on a one sided gossip conversation quite well.
