Now let’s see what’s happening down in Pine Ridge. Though the storyline before and after are missing, we can easily pick up on the trouble that our heros are facing. A plot similar to the popular film of the era, Brewster’s Millions.
Abner is still trying to get rid of all his possessions, in order to be eligible for a large inheritance. Lum talks with Abner about his building that he wants to burn down, but if he does, he may end up with an insurance settlement, which of course means more cash to dispose of.
Abner gets a little confused over Lum’s figure of speech about fire bugs. Lum marvels over Abner’s luck at the fortune he stands to inherit. Abner gets the idea that if Lum isn’t as lucky as he is, why not let Lum handle the rest of the $15 thousand he needs to get rid of.
PS: The episode runs a little short, and the quality is a bit on the poor side. What a great story concept, too bad more in this time frame doesn’t exist.
