The last show of the month, and of the season. In the opening teasing with Jack, and through the show you’ll notice there’s a stand in voice for Mary. Dennis gets in a plug for his Summer plans in Las Vegas.
Jack claims to make plans to head to Vegas too. Mary just has plans to do some gardening. With all the chattter going on, the sound affects man tries to get Jack’s attention. He just wants something complicated so he can show off his artistry.
Dennis sings, Mickey McGuire the Liar.
Jack gets overly complementary of Dennis, and Maylin the bandleader. As Jack talks with Maylin about the band, sound affects man, Wommbley does his best to overdo the sounds.
The band present Jack with a special gift, then Mr Kitzel pops in to talk about visiting his relatives in Ireland and Paris. The sound man keeps butting in, but Don brings out the Sportsmen for a song, Bye Bye Benny. Instead of By Bye Birdie? It doesn’t matter much since the lyrics are heavily changed to push the sponsor.
With the fun drawing to a close, Jack tries to phone Rochester, but it’s just an excuse for the telephone operators to tease Jack about being stingy. In saying his goodbyes for the season, Jack compliments the cast, band, and crew.
With a final sound affect interuption, Rochester phones in for a few words of vacation plans for Jack. Sound affects may be annoying when overdone, but when they’re missing… well, Wommbley gets in the last word. In epilog, Jack gives a few more words of appreciation for the cast and crew.
