Down in Pine Ridge, Abner has splurged, and ran through all his money in his dive into the high society lifestyle. All he has left is his fancy car. Today Lum tells Dick Huttleston all about the happenings, and that they’ve decided to get back into the grocery store business. The trouble is that Snake Hogan doesn’t want to sell the store back to them.
To get some cash, Abner wants to sell his automobile, but Dick thinks he’s asking too much for it. Dick and Lum talk about the benefits of good hard work, and is glad that Abner has come to his senses again. Abner comes in, but shares that his car is tough to sell.
Maybe if they combine the few bucks that Lum has, with Abners car, Snake might take them up on the offer to sell back the store. It’s worth a try, so they phone Snake and make the offer. No luck, Snake wants all cash.
Abner strikes on the idea of using the car for deliveries, then Lum figures it out. He wants to use the car to convert into a rolling store. Hey, an early version of the roach coach. These guys are years ahead of their time. A rolling convenience store.
