Now, let’s see what’s happening down in Pine Ridge. Since Lum and Abner haven’t been able to raise the money to buy back their store, they have decided to rebuild Abner’s big, 12 cylinder automobile into a rolling store. They get someone to take the old car body off their hands. It’s going to be used on a horse drawn wagon for a local farmer to take the family to town in style.
Lum tells Abner about his design for the new car body, and store. Abner gets a little confused, but it lends to having Lum tell about all the conveniences that he plans to install in the store.
The next problem up for discussion is what to name the store. To resolve the matter, Lum decides to make a request on the partyline to vote for the new store name.
Horlicks: Hey, the closing commercial seems to have been snipped. I feel like we’ve been robbed of hearing the joys of that miracle food product. No word on how I can lose weight, gain weight, be made healthy, overcome motion sickness, or most of all, get the best night of sleep I’ve ever had in my life. Oh well. I’ll have to make up my own commercial. Hey… I think I just did.
