Lum and Abner – Lums Theater Burns Down. 350715. Horlicks: Only the best of ingredients are used. The rich full cream milk, the minerals and vitamins from the best of wheat grains, accept no other.
Let’s see what’s happening down in Pine Ridge. When we last left our friends the fire alarm had been sounded at Lum’s theater. Today grandpap talks with Abner about the fire, and how it might have started. Grandpap thinks it might have been Squire, but gets Abner a little confused with a figure of speech. Dick arrives to agree on the general suspicions, but what can be done?
Abner tells how he had just offered to restore Lum as partner in the Jottem Down Store, but he refused. Dick seems to offer some assurance that Lum was covered by plenty of insurance, especially after his ordeal with being taken to court by Squire recently. Did Lum set his own fire to collect the insurance money? Will he retire, and live in the lap of luxury?
After Abner stops jumping to conclusions, Lum stops in, and seems upset. He has Dick read the letter from the insurance company. With all his policies, he forgot to buy a fire policy.
