After Lum’s last minute evidence, the case with Squire Skimp was thrown out of court. Today, Abner and grandpap chat as Lum enters to gloat about his lawyer expertise.
Lum confuses Abner a little over legal matters, although I’m not sure that Lum fully knows what he’s talking about. Abner is also confused over a figure of speech or two. Lum is thinking of opening a law office, but Abner is concerned that there’s already too many new businesses to worry about. Their store, the movie theater, and now his planned law firm.
The phone rings, and Lum may have his first legal case. It’s not just Abner, Grandpap has his doubts too. As Lum deals with important law cases over the party line, Cedric comes running up with news that may put a damper on Lum’s new legal career.
