Carlton Brickert reports that the flashlight factory is swamped, but all who write in for one will get one.
At the close of the last visit to Pine Ridge, Lum and Abner were arguing over a loaded pistol, and it went off. Abner talks to Cedric about what really happened. The shot missed Lum. Cedric relates how Lum is using the incident to use the pity vote for his own campaign purposes. Bandaging his arm, and even his head.
Getting serious about his race for president of the store, Abner hires Cedric to carry a sign for him, and even to hire him on when the store opens. Dick Huttleston stops in to talk about Lum, and his taking advantage of his alleged injuries.
Later, when Lum learns of Abner’s plan for
Cedric to carry his sign, Lum slips Abner a double cross.
Carlton Bricker is on hand to remind listeners how to send in for a flashlight.
