The courtship to get grandpap and Charity together has had its ups and downs. The gents review some of the struggles of their attempts to cure grandpaps amnesia, and matters of the powers of love. Abner is skeptical at Lum’s expertise, since he has been in love many times, but never married.
When grandpap enters, he’s cheerful, and all dressed up. Will he need to take Lum’s advice on romance? Grandpap is sure he won’t have trouble winning her over. He is all set for the direct approach, but Lum tries to have him take gifts, and go overboard in fending off all manner of imagined competition.
Box of candy, orchids, and more. With all the fancy preparations, grandpap feels he’s outclassed. His phone call to Charity is a surprise to Lum and Abner when he calls off his date.
