Lum and Abner – Dr Snide Skips Town. 430406

Trying to cover his tracks as an unlicensed dentist, Lum puts the call out for folks to burn all those handbills he paid Cedric to put out. Lum feels the world is crashing down around him, and fears he could go to the penitentiary for advertising himself as a dentist. Can Abner cheer him up?

The trouble is that while Lum will have to act as justice of the peace to have Doc Snide arrested, he may need to arrest himself. Will he take Abner’s advice, and try to escape from himself, when he gets hauled in? Nope. Lum is too sharp eyed of a Justice of the peace to let a prisoner escape.

Lum stalls, as he thinks of having to arrest himself. It seems more complicated than Abner thinks it ought to be. As Lum contemplates going to the county seat to turn himself in, Cedric enters with word that could let him off the hook. It might also mean a slippery Doc
Snide has flown the coope.
