At last, the big coming out party for grandpap has arrived. The party is in full swing, and though Abner is enjoying himself, Lum has a problem. The guest of honor hasn’t shown up.
The games are a success, Lum has his speech set to go, and Cedric announces guests as they arrive. Lum frets over the missing debutante, grandpap, as the gents give pleasant nods to passing party goers. Abner gets confused, thinking Lum has some trained fleas with him. The idea is so stuck in his head, Lum claims it couldn’t be broke loose with a stick of dynamite.
Guests keep passing, and while Abner goes to find grandpap, Squire Skimp arrives to offer greetings to Lum. All evening long Lum feels he has overlooked something, but he can’t figure what it could be. As successful as the party is, will it do the trick to get grandpap’s memory back. A reference to the formula for the synthetic rubber slips out, but will Squire pick up on the money making scheme? Abner returns, and Lum’s memory is sparked to think of what he forgot.
