Lum and Abner – The History Of The Jot Em Down Store. 430120

The questionaire from the department of transportation has Lum particularly confused. He’s once again working on it, and it looks as if it could become a new, full time job for him. If only there was any money to be made in something like that. The phone interupts, with an order. Abner is forced to tell that the store is out of the things she needs, and Mrs Seastrunk is sent to Dick Huddleston instead.

Lum shares a set of questions to figure out what kind of sales, and value the Jot Em Down store has. The gents recount the various improvements and expenses over the years, with the triumphs’ and setbacks along the way. The store was opened with only $25, and after all these years they have… $26.

They remember various people who passed through their lives, but are leaning to moving to the big city to make a living.
Abner still can’t place much value on the trash they have as fistures in the store, but Lum figures that there’s lots of invaluable sentimental attachment that makes the place priceless.

Note: The arrival of the complicated government form is a recurring comic point of confusion. This time it brings a story arc that will unfold, and lead into a topic for their soon to be released movie.
