Gene Autry – Cowhand Johnny Bond, First Song – Sioux City Sue. 1954

Gene opens in song,

    No One but Me.

In the bunkhouse Pat Buttram needs help with his donkey. How might Gene help with the medical problems of the sway backed critter?

The Cass County Boys and Johnny Bond sing the spiritual, Hear Dem Bells. Gene sings, Every Time I See Her Passing By.

Pat wants to go on the cattle drive, and it sends Gene into flashback to tell about how Johnny Bond did on the drive last year. In town, and with money in his pocket, Johnny goes to the gambling hall. He’s a good hand, but will he hold his own with the rough types in the salloon? Gene does what he can to keep the cowhand from being suckered. Will the sheriff need to be called on to stand their ground, and put an end to the shady activity? Gene’s a little to smart for the swindlers though.

Gene sings, The Silver on the Sage Tonight. Then Alvino Raye and the band plays, The Steel Guitar Rag Gene sings, Smile A While.
