Vic and Sade – Icebergs in Illinois. 1941

Audio is weak and staticky. As the show opens, we catch the discussion in the Gook home already in progress, and Rush marvels at Sade’s statement that icebergs were seen rolling through town. Astounded at the wild statement, Rush challenges his mom’s statement. Not to be proven a fool, she defends herself, claiming that is just what she heard. Sade has her facts sort of right, but she’s confused about just when icebergs rolled through Illinois, pushing boulders around, and leaving them laying everywhere.

Rush can’t convince her that she actually means glaciers. Just how long ago did these icebergs move through? Forty years ago? Will Sade ever allow herself to be schooled on what an iceberg is? Will Rush ever learn that he’ll never win at teaching his mom cconcepts like logic and good grammar?

I believe his father, more than once, tried to convince him not to do this because Sade feels like a fool (my words) when he does this.

One particular conversion about this is evident in the script, 37-xx-xx Vic Confides to Rush about Mothers, where Vic nicely lays down the law.
