My Favorite Husband – Is There A Baby In The House. 481127

As new neighbors move in next door, Liz spies on them with George’s binoculars. The family friend, Correy drops in with news. George has been volunteered to take on a business deal with an orphanage. Meanwhile, the nosey Liz jumps at the chance to go next door and meet the lady of the house in person. The neighbor has to run an errand, and leaves her baby with Liz.

When George comes home early he’s surprised to find Liz with the baby. Things get a little worse when the young mom phones to tell Liz that she has been delayed. The glaring lack of child care skills of both Liz and George demonstrate a need for parenting classes. Katie to the rescue. Just wait for that overnight stuff to kick in.

The next morning George’s boss thinks the baby will work to get the new client for the bank’s business. Frank Nelson is the client, Mr Brennan, and the idea is to borrow the next door baby to make an impression that George is a family man. Guess who just moved in next door? Wasn’t their name Brennan?

As Liz runs between the houses in the vain attempt to carry the baby around, she also runs into a few other problems. Is the fraud ever found out? Does George get the account? I don’t think it matters much in the world of radio comedy.

After a brief inserted public service note from AFRS, an epilog brushes over the outcome, but all is well, and in true neighborly fashion they get to do more babysitting. Wow, such trusting neighbors.
