Since the earlier attempts at trapping Irving the lion, the big cat seems to have run away. Today we find Abner returning from deliveries, telling about his fear of having a run in with the lion. Lum has been reading a book about African safari’s and thinks that’s the way to capture the lion. Abner gets confused at the idea of going to Africa… er make that Africky. The whole idea of big game hunting is a little beyond Abner’s grasp, no matter how much Lum tries to set him straight. Somehow, Abner comes to think that Lum might be trying to dress up like a kid, so he can go to school in Miss Fredericks classroom.
To outfit his safari, Lum needs Cedric. When a phone call comes in, Lum is thrilled to be called on to guard the school kids, and wants to make a good impression with his new safari outfit and gear.
