Though his reputation is a village idiot, Cedric has a practical wisdom. Haggling begins, but Cedric holds out for a cash sale of his eggs, and ends up as becoming the new Vice President of the store.
When Lum compares the situation at the store to a leaking ship, Abner gets confused at the figure of speech. In the process of events, Abner has somehow ended up with 10 rabbits, and a mule when he tried to collect on debts.
