Casey, Crime Photographer – The Tobacco Pouch. 470918.

In the Blue Note Cafe, Ann Williams and Casey talk to Ethylbert about doing some shopping. Much against Casey’s will. In the department store, Casey spots a shoplifter, and gives a play by play to Ann as he watches. The dignified man isn’t the typical kind of such a petty thief, and a story is certainly behind it. The store detective intervenes and lets the guy go, and an even wierder story is brought to light.

The eccentric man is a relative of the store owner, and he is allowed to let his kleptomania run wild as long as he keeps it to this store. Still, there’s a matter of another theif who appears with his arm in a sling.

Who is the curious man with a red flower on his lapel, and an arm in a sling? Casey takes matters into his own hands to investigate. Something that sounds a little too dangerous for Ann’s liking. Posing as a mystery man named Slate, Casey soon gets a thump on the head for his efforts. By the time Ann intervenes, there’s no sign of Casey, except a few bloodstains in the room he was last seen in.

What does the tobacco pouch have to do with the mystery? Who will come to Casey’s aid and rescue him from being murdered? An unexpected savior comes to help Casey bring down justice on the mobsters who have him in their sights.
