An episode of the Mystery Playhouse that features Charlie Chan. The well known detective is a family man, and we find him at home with #1 son, and sister.
As with any family, kids argue, and can be a frustration to the head of the house. Word reaches Charlie that his daughter is missing, and feared kidnapped. The cops feel they have a lead on the kidnappers, and a strategy is formed. Should Charlie pay the ransom demand? Will the emotion of having a family member involved cloud the mind of the great detective?
For now, Charlie and the cops play along, but a trap is planned. The thugs who hold Charlies daughter aren’t too bright, but they’re ruthless killers. Tense moments are in store as the cops and crooks play a dangerous game of posturing.
Before it’s all over, we discover that Charlie’s daughter proves she can think on her feet, but Charlie still has a trick up his sleeve to rescue her.
