What excuses does Captain Sherry have for Sam? We learn some backstory to the mystery and motive. How did paths cross to bring Sherry into the story? How does the cute oriental girl play into the story?
Sam investigates to see where everybody was at the time of the murder. To prove his theory, our hard boiled detective sets up a recreation of the murder scene. The skeptical Sam uncovers the killer, but wait… there’s more explaining to do to get to putting Sherry on the spot. Sam explains all in his report to Effie.
On a ketch, sailing the western seas, near an island of black pearls, a man waits who would like to take your life.
Once safely past a break in a barrier reef, it closes behind, like door slamming shut and trapping you on the island. The crew of the boat want to hide the fact of the black pearls they’ve just taken onboard. Not to mention a few other secrets of their past. How much danger could they be in with this solitary man in an outrigger canoe? Their host is extremely gracious and extravagant in sheltering the sailors. Both sides are postureing, keeping secrets, and playing their cards close to the vest.
With this isolated island refuge, with its little mysteries, this isn’t going to be one of those stories where the traveller enters, then can never leave is it? What can be so important to keep hidden away? What kind of torture awaits those who try? Which side will have their way and win out over the other? When it comes down to it, neither the sailors or the old man are very nice characters. It’s a toss up between the lesser of two evils. But let’s just say it may be better to be evil and free, than evil and imprisoned.
While hoping against hope, Daddy Warbucks is seeking any sign that Annie is still alive. Meanwhile, on the island with her friends, Annie realizes how important it has been to study hard in school. It is taking all her wits, and help from her engineer friend from England to build a radio transmitter.
Leaping lizards, even if the generator does work, what other things will they need to send radio waves to reach help. A high power antenna, will direct signals out for thousands of miles. Radio signals will be sent out in all directions at once.
Bud arms himself with his pistol when a island native approaches. Leaping lizards! Is there really any danger? Annie is sure the natives are peaceful, and are the ones she helped bring water to to rescue them recently. Will she accept the offer to become queen of the island?
Annie and Joe are faced with the problem of having to build their own radio. Is this a job that’s too big for even Annie?
Being stuck on an island, it’s going to take more than building the kind of crystal set radios they had at home to tune in their favorite radio programs. They need to have something powerful enough to broadcast to the world. They have plenty of parts on hand to build one.

Life on the island has been boring for Lucy, the young wife of Mr Brian, the old man who owns the island, and the treasure that’s on it. Will the introduction of the two thugs bring death… and to who?
After a thump on the head, Slate wakes up to find the Bold Venture is gone. Saylor is forced to sail to the treasure, while a hurricane threatens the other side of the island. Can Slate get the rest to protection before the hurricane hits?
Meanwhile, Saylor has her own way of playing the thugs against each other.
Fighting against forces of nature has a way of changing attitudes in Lucy. It could be too late to make amends though. The folks write about the appearance of Marylin Monroe on Jack’s show. Dennis arrives in a hurry to sing his song. He tells about his medical coverage, and having organs removed. An attempted call to Rochester leads to the phone operators gossiping about their summer vacations. Don plugs the appearance of Jack and Mary on the Womans Home Companion magazine. Dennis sings, Where is Your Heart.
As Bob Crosby arrives, Jack tells about the play. Based on a Gary Cooper hit film. Jokes about the band abound. Rochester phones in to interupt Jack. He tells about a near miss with a traffic cop, and an accident he had to report. The play begins.
The lush island environment has plenty of papayas, but no mammies to be found. Watch out, there could even be a simmeron roll involved. The warriors, aka the Sportsmen, come out to sing the sponsor message to the tune of the Hawaiian War Chant.
The play continues. Will Gary Benny win the hand of his native princess? How will his confrontation with the island king go?
Gracie is one of 4 people who have been stranded on a remote island. With the plane repaired, Captain Friday and Skip Turner had to tie her up and carry her to the plane to rescue her off the island. Offering escape to even the pirate, Manuel presents even more problems. Suddenly Skip disappears. Is there somebody else on the island?
Can a deal be made with Manuel to get Skip back, andtaking the pirate to a safe place of his choice? Maybe Manuel and Gracie just want to stay, and have the island to themselves. Suddenly a rifle shot rings out, and Manuel is killed. Who fired the shot?
Curiosity postpones the take off to try and learn who the fantom person on the island is. What does Gracie know? Is she covering something up? The parrot holds a clue. The mystery man is revealed, but he doesn’t want to be rescued either. Why do all the castaways want to stay?
As Friday pokes at clues, more gunshots ring out, and secrets explode to the surface. A love affair ends the hard way, and the plane finally lifts off with a willing Gracie.
After a forced landing on their way to Austrailia, Captain Friday and Skip Turner find Gracie and her parrot stranded on the same island. The girl had survived for 6 months by foraging the lush jungle growth. There’s one problem, a mysterious man is determined to keep Gracie on the island. Can our heros manage to kidnap Gracie away from the island, once they make repairs to their airplane?
As Gracie hides out from the pirate, she impresses Skip with her feats in evading her enemies. Will she let them help her get off the island? Should Friday and Skip take her by force?
Gracie isn’t the run of the mill damsel in distress. She shows the guys some of her toughness as she describes part of her ordeal on the island before they came along. She’s not about to take off with them just because they want her to go. In fact, the guys have had to tie her up to learn about her ordeal. With the hazards of the island, and the danger of the pirate,
why isn’t it a given that Gracie wants to go? What if Manuel the pirate catches up with them? Is there room to fly him off the island as well? Is there still more secrets that the island holdds?

Taking to the tall jungle grass, our heros inch closer to that fresh water stream. Other men soon make their appearance. Are they pirates? Calptain Friday and Skip piece together the strange happenings they’ve seen thus far. Were those gunshots meant for them? Does anybody know that they’re on the island? Finally they encounter the girl face to face, along with her parrot,, and a pirate named Manuel.
