<itunes:summary>Along with host Ernie Whitman, special guests help with the show today.

Erskine Hawkins plays, Stella.
Jack Benny takes the stage to talk with Ernie.
Jack tells secrets on Rochester, and his love life. Rochester phones in to defend himself, and the absence of both himself and Jacks violin. Topics also include dice games.
Erskine Hawkins plays, Bear Mash Blues. Or maybe from the sultry tones of the song it could be, the Bare Tones Blues?
Jack is back to joke with Ernie, and help with the introductions.
Effie Smith sings, Straighten Up and Fly Right.
Rochester is on handwith wisecracks, and Jacks violin. Armed with his trusty fiddle, Jack whips out some jazzy ragtime riffs from a time gone by. Even for 1943.
To cleanse the pallet, the Lou Mel Morgan Trio sing a perky, upbeat, smooth version of, Them There Eyes. Ernie lays out the jive talk to tell how to write in for making a request.
Erskine Hawkins plays, Tuxedo Junction.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Host Ernie Whitman gives a jive talking introduction for Erskine Hawkins, who plays, Let's Ball a While. Erskine then introduces vocalist, Jimmy Mitchell to sing, someone's Rocking My Dreamboat.

Ernie reads from the mailbag, and thanks folks for writing in. Pianist Gene Rogers plays, I Got Rhythm. Ernie gives a big intro to May Johnson. She dedicates her tune to a soldier that she apparently is connected to in some way, Straighten Up and Fly Right.

Ernie calls out Rochester for a few words. A big birthday bash for the show is planned for next week. Rochester calls out his old vaudeville partner, Johnny Taylor, and Rochester reveals how much he gets paid from his famous, skinflint of a boss... roughly. They sing a duet, Waiting for Jane.

Erskine reads from the mailbag then plays, Tuxedo Junction. Ernie and Rochester close the show with a few words.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Erskine Hawkins, Nat King Cole. Host Ernie Whitman introduces Erskine Hawkins, who kicks off the show with , the Bicycle Bounce. Leo 'Scatman' Watson sings, or make that scats, a tune, hence his name. I'm not sure on the title of the song, but I thik it's called, I Like Tooti Fruity. I never could quite understand the concept of "skat". I think it's just because the singer forgot the words. :-)

After some mailbag greetings, Erskine Hawkins continues with, Get Up Blues. Vocals by Jimmy Mitchel. Next, the King Cole Trio sing, I Get a Kick.

Ernie gives a big introduction for Lena Horne. He chats with her about her dress, then Lena reads from the maiblbag before singing, The One I Love Belongs to Somebody Else. After another short chat with Ernie, she continues with, Sweet Embraceable You. Ernie moves the show along and introduces Erskine's next number, No Soap. Ernie and Lena share some parting words as the show signs off.</itunes:summary>
