<itunes:summary>The mood of the show is set when Lou enters in circus tights. He and Bud fire off the jokes about the circus, and circus animals. The discussion drifts to wild animals, Tarzan, and making movies. Somehow the guys end up on a virtual lion hunt, with Lou as the mighty hunter, and Bud setting up the scene and delivering the straight lines.

Back on the circus midway, it's fun with sideshows. Bessy May Mucho arrives to share her cracker jack, and drive Lou nuts with her manner of speech. Mel Blanc provides voices for a variety of characters. Ken Niles and his radio wife, played by verna Felton swap insults with Lou about her appearance, and horses. Later Lou is told that Mrs Niles is going to have him fired, but it doesn't stop the insults or animal jokes.

Still checking out the side shows, an exotic dancer becomes the center of Lou's affections and jokes, before circus manager, Mellonhead kicks him off the lot. To redeem himself, Lou gets to run a sideshow game. Hey, what are all those guys doing with those baseballs, and looking at Lou that way for?</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>East is about to meet West in a great clash of empires. Brittish troops are nearing Calcutta India. CBS reporters get the story from Brittish troops about their retreat from their positions. Is there a traitor who would leave the Brittish hanging? Politicians are interviewed about the reversal of their war policy.

The Nabobs are showing no resistance, and seem unenthusiastic to fight. With the overwhelming numbers, 50,000 to 3,000, they don't need to put forth a lot of effort. Despite the high odds, Brittish troops aren't worried as they turn to the business of defending their settlement. Clive, the Brittish leader, is held in highest confidence, since he has faced similar situations and come out on top.

Elephants are used by the enemy, and the fighting breaks out as the animals begin to charge. CBS reporters describe the battlefield scenes. Listen in to the blow by blow, and see who will finish the day victorious.

Note: The series at large doesn't mention all the political climate during the mid to late 1770's for the Brittish. They had holdings that went around the world, inspiring the claim that the sun never set on the Brittish Empire. Their claim to land spanned the globe. Of course, it also meant that sometimes they had to deal with uprisings. Today we learn of a problem in India, but at about this same time there was a matter to deal with with the French in the American colonies. Later wars would arise with the nation of France, and that little rebellion in the colonies where those darned Yankees kept doing crazy things like tossing tea into Boston Harbor. What ever beame of that anyway? I'll bet if we stay tuned to the show we'll find out.</itunes:summary>

Later in the day, Mr Conklin has to replace some bookends, but his note to Connie Brooks gets passed from hand to hand, and the message that reaches her ends up requesting her to buy a school mascot instead. To her credit, she tries to clarify her mission with Conklin, but mix ups ensue, and she's off to purchase an elephant for the mascot.

At home, it's usually Mrs Davis who surprises Connie with her crazy remarks. Now it's Connie who gets to surprise Mrs Davis with her elephant hunt. Don't miss the fun as Connie and Boynton go to the circus to get their new mascot, and spring their surprise on Mr Conklin.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Lum and Abner - Hunting The Lion. 330102.

Sponsored by Ford. Making a V8 that averaged 22.5 MPG. Wow, how can I get one of those!

Of course, this is the only show known in this story line but... When we left our friends down in Pine Ridge, a lion had escaped, and was running loose in town. today Lum has just arrived to talk with Abner, who is getting ready to set out on his lion hunt, complete with an elephant to help him.

Lum thinks it's ridiculous since elephants can't bark, or tree a squirrel. Abner insists that a book he has shows that they use elephants to hunt lions in AfricaOr is that, Africky?

Abner calls the elephant Baby, and it gets on Lum's nerves because there's a contest on to name the elephant, but a winner hasn't been decided upon yet. Abner describes the elephant, with it's loose, wrinkly skin, and stout legs.

Dick Huddleston enters as Abner leaves to finish getting ready for the lion hunt. Lum explains to Dick about some of Abner's preparations to hunt with the elephant. Dick says the whole town is scared to death to come out at night with a lion on the loose. Lum reveals it's just an old toothless lion, but it doesn't keep the townsfolk from being afraid.

Lum also shares some secrets of his own experiences in town regarding the lion. Dick is the one who gave Abner that book on Afica, hoping it would help Abnner hunt the lion.

Lum fills in Dick about the elephant nameing contest. A prize is even offered, a new Ford car radio, a handy device that can be put into any car. Lum gets on the party line to announce the contest, the prize for the winner, and that the contest ends this week.

Just then, Abner rides up on his elephant. He has rigged up an old car body so it will make the elephant a 5 seater. Abner has it all planned. Lum will ride with him up on top, as Cedric makes noise, and acts as a beater to scare up the lion.

Ford: with the new steel body. It takes less care than a body and frame made of wood. The all steel wheel of a Ford is the latest high tech addition to automotive production, and more reliable than ones made with wood in them.Steel body? All steel wheels? What'll they think up next, sliced bread?

Although the date is unknown, it was sometime in 1933 or 34, since that was when the show was sponsored by Ford. One possible date might be: 1933-01-02.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Fred Allen - The Mumbo, Or Who Stole The Elephant From Billy Nose. 360122.

The show opens with the crowds entering the Town Hall, and the Ipana Singers singing, I Feel a Song Coming On. Fred reads from the Town Hall Bulletin, making note of butcher shops. In the news, Fred recaps issues with psychiatrists in a college. In a reenactment, the doc hardly lets his patient get in a word in edgewise.

Leap year is the year for women to be forward, and do the proposing, the enacted drama presents the need for single men to take cover. Elsewhere patients are presented a new medical system, medical care on the finance system, but will that lead to repossessing body parts after a surgery can't be paid for? Interesting.

The orchestra plays, I've Got My Fingers Crossed. Fred is greeted by Portland, who tells about buying a mousetrap. It seems the sleepless mice in Portland's parents house keep them awake with all the noise they make.

Fred suggests getting a cat, and the two compare notes on tough alley cats. Fred gets insulted by a family walking down the street. It's a deliveryman who also jokes about his wife's singing. The married couple give a demonstration of their musical ability. Or they try to until Fred rescues us.

The Ipana Singers sing, Sliphorn Sam and His Old TromBone.

The Mighty Allen Art Players present, Mumbo, or Who Stole the Elephant from Billy Nose's Finale. Billy Nose goes to the police station to report his missing elephant. Fortunately that famous detective is on hand, One Long Pan. The mighty detective investigates with jokes about political elections, hay fever, and more. One Long Pan is soon tracking down the elephant, and with looking into the obvious, and using some odd logic, the elephants are turned up.

After the midshow station break, the Ipana singers are back to sing, Got a Brand New Suit. Now it's time for the amateurs as they compete for a $50 prize.

The ABC Quartet talk with Fred about their quartet name, and other topics. They sing, Tiger Rag.

A duet of women one from Ohio, and one from Canada talk with Fred about their singing ambition, then they sing an aria from the Vagabond King. Not bad individually, but they need work in their timing to be a duet.

Tommy Dunn is an 18 year old who plays harmonica. After the young athlete talks with Fred about boxing, he plays standing on his head, a few bars of, Dark Town Strutters Ball.

A pianist and song writer is next, and he plays one of his original compositions, After Dark.

Eleanor Frieze, a short little lady is to play the musical chimes. After she tells Fred about her unusual instrument, she plays, Glow Worm.

Miss Friza from the Bronx gets to joke around with Fred about the snow in her neighborhood, then she sings the popular song of the day, Eenie, Meenie, Meiney Moe.

The audio stops during her song. If someone has a copy of this that plays to the end, let me know, I'd love to get a copy. The only thing that's really missing though is the outcome of who won, and closing credits, so it's fairly complete.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Jack Benny - The Elephants Graveyard Mystery. 550109.

Don sets the scene as Jack takes a walk erly in the morning. He jokes to himself about smog, Beverly Hills, a horse and buggy, and his Maxwell. When Jack recognizes the farmer in the wagon, they talk about old times. They part, and Jack talks about the houses of his celebrity neighbors.

Back home, Rochester prepares him a special breakfast, and wisecrack about their old sponsor, Jello. Don arives to complain about his paycheck. Jack goes outside so the Sportsmen can sing him their song, Side by Side. Jack has to race back inside to answer a phone survey about what's on TV. Dennis phones in to say that he's in jail. Should Jack be worried for him?

Jack looks for something to do to fill his day. Maybe reading a book? He gets in a joke about Fred Allen as he comments about various book titles. He reads, and fantasizes about the Elephants Graveyard. Through voice over and drama, Jack relives the story of a safari. Mel Blanc gets the chance to show off his animal impressions, including the wierd plaintiff cry of the giraffe. Is there any animal sound that Mel can't do? I think that giraffe had him stumped for a moment though.

Deep in the uncharted jungles of Africa, Jack encounters a beautiful maiden in distress, and even gets a telegram. In the jungle?

When Dennis shows up as Jack's arch rival and nemesis, will Jack ever find the elephants graveyard?</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Lum and Abner - Abner Buys A Cheap Pair Of Glasses. 350326Horlicks: Planning an evening party? Pserve a cup of hot Horlicks malted milk. It makes a welcome change for your guests.

When we left Lum and Abner yesterday, they were discouraged over the losses with the circus. The guys talk about the future of the circus, and where they should go next on the road.

Abner talks about elephants, a hunter, and about how well elephants remember things. I know a joke about that too, but mine has a different ending than Abner's cute story.

Next Abner shows off the glasses he bought from a salesman at the circus. A bargain price, and so much quicker than going to the eye doctor. Lum decides to help, and takes the glassesback to the circus.

Horlicks: After a recent survey, nearly all mothers questioned say that they feel that Horlicks tablets let their kids sleep better and give them more energy.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>Lum and Abner - Lum Thinks All Circus Jobs Are Dangerous. 350321Horlick: Changeable weather is a leading cause of colds. Fight colds and illness with Horlicks malted milk.

Squire is still busy trying to get the circus ready for its big opening. To save costs, he has been trying to use local help as the performers.

Lum and Squire talk about doing the elephant act. They go to check on how Abner is doing with the lion taming job. When Abner gets into the cage, Lum thinks he's gone off the deep end. Does Abner finally have a handle on taming the big cats?

Cedric spills the beans on his secret, but not without a last minute plot twist.

Horlicks: Use a glass of malted milk in place of your regular lunch. It helps to lose weight safely.

Wow! it helps you lose weight, gain weight, sleep better, improves health, fights colds. Is it a drug or a food? How does it know to do all that stuff?</itunes:summary>
