The husband enjoys the outdoors, but his wife and companion strike Blair as spoiled city folk. Concerned that something fishy might be going on, he has his Indian friend Joe check on them. The plot thickens, as the story unfolds. The listener is privvy to the plans that the wife and the companion develop to kill her husband for the insurance money. They seem to have given Joe the slip, and see their big chance. Have they committed the perfect crime? To blow a little smoke, they play the indignant role with Inspector Blair. Blair holds some secrets of his own, that expose the murder, or actually an attempt at murder, to give the bad guys what they deserve.
